About This Quote
O God, thy sea is so great and my boat is so small. This quote reminds me of the ocean I grew up on, surrounded by the ocean. We lived right next to the water and as a child constantly saw it. Now as an adult, you can’t see the ocean like I could as a kid.
Its just different now that I am older and have different priorities and goals. As a kid, we just ran around in the water all day long. We didn’t care about anything else and we didn’t care about school either.
We just wanted to go out and play. Me and my brother would go to the beach every day after school and we would play ball with our cousins all day long. Living on the beach was great because we had so many opportunities to explore the water and explore the world around us.
Our parents always made sure we knew not to get too close to the edge of shore line because there were dangerous currents that would knock you off your feet if you were lucky enough to be close to the shore. Another thing that made living on the beach great was that we got a lot of family time with our grandparents who lived up on a hill which gave us a great view of the entire beach from up there. We would look at it from up there, from our hill, from our house, from our patio, from anywhere we could find a good view of everything along the whole entire beach .
It was amazing how much things changed as you grew up as well as how much things stayed the same.
